This is the journey that shows why Uganda is called the Pearl of Africa. Start in the north with rhino tracking at Ziwa and the Nile crashing through Murchison Falls, then travel south through crater-lake country to Kibale Forest for some of the best chimpanzee tracking in Africa. Queen Elizabeth National Park brings classic game drives, a boat safari on the Kazinga Channel and, with luck, the tree-climbing lions of Ishasha. The highlight comes in Bwindi, where you spend an hour with a mountain gorilla family, before a last night among the zebra and impala of Lake Mburo on the way back to Entebbe.
