Gorillas and chimps in four days
Domestic flights from Entebbe save many hours on the road, so you can reach Bwindi Impenetrable National Park on your first day. Gorilla treks start in the morning and can last from one to several hours through steep forest; once your group finds its gorilla family, you spend one unforgettable hour in their company. From Bwindi you continue to Kibale, one of the best places in Africa to track chimpanzees, before flying back to Entebbe. Gorilla permits are limited, so we recommend booking several months in advance.
Itinerary
Day by day

Day 1 · Fly from Entebbe to Bwindi
A scenic domestic flight to the edge of the Bwindi forest and a briefing at your lodge.
Day 2 · Gorilla trekking
Trek with expert rangers to find a habituated gorilla family and spend an hour with them.
Day 3 · Bwindi to Kibale
Travel north through tea plantations and crater-lake country to Kibale Forest.
Day 4 · Chimp tracking & fly out
Track chimpanzees in the morning, then fly back to Entebbe for your onward journey.
Permits & fitness
Trekkers must be 15 or older and reasonably fit. Porters can be hired to help on steep trails.
