6 days · Tanzania · Photographic safari
The Seronera Valley in the heart of the Serengeti has water and resident prey all year, which makes it one of the most reliable places in Africa to photograph lions, leopards and cheetahs. This safari is all about the cats, with long days, a patient guide and a vehicle set up for cameras.

Best time
Year-round · June to October for dry-season visibility
Ideal for
Photographers of every level
Lion prides rest on the granite kopjes that rise from the plains, leopards drape themselves over branches along the Seronera River, and cheetahs hunt on the open short-grass plains to the south and east. Because the prey does not leave, neither do the predators, so you are not relying on the migration for action. We spend time with each sighting rather than ticking boxes: waiting for a leopard to come down from its tree, for a pride to wake in the late afternoon, or for a cheetah to climb a termite mound and scan the plains. Your guide watches behaviour, positions the vehicle for clean backgrounds and good light, and switches off the engine so your images stay sharp. No more than three guests per vehicle, each with a window and roof hatch.
Itinerary
A sample route. Your guide follows the cats, so each day takes shape around the latest sightings.
Day 1 · Arrive in Arusha
Met at Kilimanjaro International Airport and taken to a garden lodge outside Arusha for dinner and a briefing.
Day 2 · Fly to Seronera
A light-aircraft flight into the central Serengeti, with an afternoon game drive along the river on the way to camp.
Days 3–4 · Lions of the kopjes
Full days around the kopjes and plains: lion prides at rest and on the move, cheetahs hunting in the open, and hyena and jackal around the kills.
Day 5 · Leopards of the Seronera River
A day dedicated to the river woodland, where leopards rest in sausage and acacia trees. Patience here is often rewarded with a leopard climbing down or hunting at dusk.
Day 6 · Departure
A last sunrise drive, then a flight back to Arusha for your onward connection.
