Two countries and the coast
The Maasai Mara and the Serengeti are two halves of one ecosystem, and travelling through both shows you the full scale of East Africa’s wildlife country. This route crosses the border between them, then continues through the Ngorongoro Crater and Tarangire before a short flight to Zanzibar. It suits travellers who want the classic highlights without rushing, and a few days to relax before flying home.
Itinerary

Days 1–2 · Maasai Mara
From Nairobi to the Mara for two days of big cats and, in season, river crossings.
Days 3–5 · The Serengeti
Cross the border into Tanzania for three nights in the Serengeti.
Day 6 · Ngorongoro highlands
Drive to the cool highlands on the rim of the crater.
Day 7 · Ngorongoro Crater & Tarangire
A morning in the crater, then on to Tarangire.
Days 8–10 · Zanzibar
A final game drive, then fly to Zanzibar for three nights by the sea.
Day 11 · Departure
Transfer to the airport for your flight home.
