East Africa
East Africa is the original safari country. Here the Great Migration moves between the Serengeti and the Maasai Mara, mountain gorillas live in misty forests and Kilimanjaro rises above the plains, with the Indian Ocean waiting at the end of it all. Each destination offers something different, and many of our guests combine two or three. Choose a country below to see where we go, when to travel and what you'll experience.

01 · Our home
Serengeti · Ngorongoro · Tarangire · Kilimanjaro
Africa's great wildlife stage, and where Asili Trails began. The Serengeti and the Great Migration, the wildlife-packed Ngorongoro Crater, Tarangire's elephants and baobabs, and the snow-capped summit of Kilimanjaro, plus wild, remote parks in the south and west for those who want to go further.
Visit Tanzania02 · Classic safari country
Maasai Mara · Amboseli · Samburu · Laikipia
The birthplace of the modern safari. The Maasai Mara for big cats and river crossings, Amboseli's elephants framed by Kilimanjaro, the rare species of Samburu in the north, and private conservancies where you can walk, ride and drive at night.
Visit Kenya03 · The pearl of Africa
Bwindi · Kibale · Queen Elizabeth · Murchison Falls
Green, wild and wonderfully uncrowded. Trek to meet mountain gorillas in Bwindi's Impenetrable Forest, track chimpanzees in Kibale, cruise the Kazinga Channel among hippos and see the Nile thunder through Murchison Falls.
Visit Uganda04 · The spice island
Stone Town · Nungwi · Paje · Mnemba
The perfect finale to any safari. Wander the carved doorways and spice markets of Stone Town, snorkel around coral atolls and unwind on powder-white beaches lapped by the turquoise Indian Ocean, just a short flight from the Serengeti.
Visit Zanzibar05 · Land of a thousand hills
Volcanoes · Nyungwe · Akagera · Lake Kivu
Small, safe and beautifully green. Land in Kigali and trek mountain gorillas in the Virunga volcanoes the next morning, then add chimpanzees and the canopy walk in Nyungwe, a Big Five savanna in Akagera and quiet days on Lake Kivu.
Visit RwandaFor the adventurous
Tanzania's southern and western parks see a fraction of the visitors of the north. Remote, wild and deeply rewarding, they're best reached by light aircraft and are ideal for a second safari.
Southern Tanzania
Rugged baobab country with large prides of lion, big elephant herds and very few vehicles.
Southern Tanzania
One of Africa's largest protected areas, with boat safaris and walks along the Rufiji River.
Western Tanzania
Truly remote: vast floodplains, huge buffalo herds and crocodiles in the dry season.
Western Tanzania
Track wild chimpanzees in forested mountains on the shores of Lake Tanganyika.
